These also make great sensory chew sticks for you or your child. Being a hard wearing oral chewy, it can help to provides sensory distraction and can support a positive redirect (from other ‘less-than-ideal’ ones).

A range of activities can be used with these sticks, with a range of increasing challenges as you progress in your physical rehabilitation and build jaw strength.

Great for: speech and language therapy, physical therapy, language development, proprioception, jaw strength, stability and communication development.

Rehab activities: where you use the tool that is placed in the mouth can offer different experiences and exercises (ie: middle, left side, right side, so on). Please be directed by your guiding therapist.

Bonus: Use these to help with oral sensory seeking, as well as a way to manage/relieve tension + anxiety.

It can be used in those with: aphasia, dysarthria, TMJ disorders, post stroke, and during brain injury recovery. Can help build strength and proprioception development and jaw mobility in those with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Down Syndrome, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and so on…

Note: We strongly recommend that you use this tool in conjunction with your qualified physical therapist, rehabilitation, occupational and/or speech and language therapist who knows you/your child and can lay out a treatment plan with the rehab goals in mind.
